Royal HaskoningDHV advising on port development and Mekong Delta upgrade

Vietnam is working with Dutch engineering consultancy Royal HaskoningDHV to revamp the port facilities in Da Nang, as well as to make the Mekong Delta more resilient against climate change.
The overhaul of the port in Da Nang, a coastal city that has been suffering from congestion, would see the construction of a new seaport in the Lien Chieu area to ease the load of the existing port in the Tien Sa area.

Congestion at Tien Sa caused by growing cargo volumes has also resulted in traffic jams and accidents, and increased air pollution, hampering plans to develop tourism in the city.
During a trade mission to Vietnam in April, Royal HaskoningDHV’s representatives signed a letter of intent with Da Nang to co-operate and work on the relocation of the port activities to Lien Chieu.
