A concession agreement has been signed for a USD60 million automobile roll on/roll off (ro-ro) terminal currently under construction at the port of Mobile, Alabama, on 22 January. The agreement between the Alabama State Port Authority (ASPA) and AutoMOBILE International Terminal (AIT), established that once the terminal has been completed in early 2021, it will be operated by AIT.

The new 23 ha terminal is located at ASPA’s main port multimodal complex and, when completed, will have a depth of 12m. The terminal will be accessed by five Class I railroads (railroads having a minimum carrier operating value of USD433.2 million) and a ferry service with connections throughout North America, as well as unencumbered access to major US interstate and highway systems.
