The Port of Tyne, situated in North-East England is undergoing the final phases of a GBP3 million (USD3.8million) investment programme to add 12 ha of deep sea quayside by infilling the Tyne Dock.

In the long run, the investment will strategically place the Port of Tyne to become an offshore wind port for future North Sea projects.

Chief executive Matt Beeton said, “The demolition of a number of buildings means our latest infrastructure programme provides increased storage capacity at Tyne Dock Enterprise Park, which already offers multimodal connectivity by sea, road and rail.”
