Tideworks Technology, a terminal operating system (TOS) provider, has announced that South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) has gone live with their graphical planning solution, Spinnaker for the development of the Port of Charleston.

The is the first phase of the project, with work beginning in the second half of the year, which will grant access to the system’s platform to all stevedores in the port complex and will increase visibility throughout the platform. This is to meet the SCPA’s broader objective of handling greater container volumes while reducing turn times through comprehensive graphical planning, inventory accuracy and increased productivity.

The second phase of the project will include the implementation of Tideworks’ TOS Mainsail, Traffic Control, the Terminal View 3D data visualisation system, Tideworks Insight and Advent Intermodel Solutions’ eModal port community platform.

“The Port is experiencing strong growth, and the addition of Tideworks’ solutions will support our ability to handle increased cargo volumes over the long term,” said Stephen Rauch, director of information technology at SCPA.

Tideworks will provide all implementation services to SCPA, these include project management, software configuration and installation, integration services, user training and go-live assistance. Ongoing maintenance and support services will also be included, as well as 24/7 technical support and regular software upgrades.
