The construction of the hydrographic research vessel Geo Ranger for hydrographic survey specialists, Geo Plus, is being carried out according to plan and on schedule reported Dutch shipyard Royal Niestern Sander.

“The vessel will be built under the supervision of Lloyd’s Register and is scheduled to be delivered in April 2020. Meanwhile, the construction of yard number 864 is in full swing at the Delfzijl shipyard,” said Niestern Sander.

The vessel is expected to be charted by companies interested in conducting hydrographic surveys, once completed and operational. These include building and maintenance of offshore wind farms as well as dredging companies.

The vessel, designed by Niestern Sander in cooperation with Conoship Internation, will be 41 m in length and Alewijnse Marine has been contracted to carry out the entire electrical installation onboard.
