EMAR Offshore Services, a Dutch tug owner, has taken delivery of a Damen azimuth stern drive (ASD) harbor Tug 2811. The ASD tug, named E-TWO, will be used by EMAR for its harbor operations and project towage fleet.

The 28m E-TWO tug was designed for open sea with a modular marine NOx reduction system and the Damen digital platform. Johan van Beek, managing director of EMAR Offshore Services, said, “This expansion of the fleet enables us to ramp up operations in Africa and fully establish ourselves as a leading marine services operator in the region.” The E-TWO has been fitted with a FiFi1 fire-fighting system, aft winch, and hydraulic crane.

It will mostly be used to assist vessels in berthing and unberthing operations in major ports and ship-handling operations in restricted waterways. Currently, it is underway to China to pick up its first tow, a barge, towing it from China to the Middle East as part of its project towage capacity.
