The second 90-m accommodation support vessel (ASV) from Damen Shipyards is to commence maintenance work off the coast of Germany on two EnBW and Enbridge-owned wind farms – Hohe See and Albatros – for Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and EnBW.

On its arrival in the North Sea, the Bibby WaveMaster Horizon will begin its inaugural deployment with the maintenance work.

The ASV 9020 has been developed by Damen to meet the specific needs of the offshore renewable energy industry with regard to achieving high-efficiency, low-cost wind farm maintenance.

The second of Damen’s innovative support vessels, with DP2 and walk-to-work capabilities, ensures a wide window of operability and excellent seakeeping.

It has a maximum speed of 13 knots and accommodates 60 crew members, plus other personnel.

The vessel was delivered to Bibby Marine Services from Liverpool, UK, at Damen Shipyards Galati in Romania.
